League: Collegiate Football

History: In the early days of College Football, no other school dominated like the Yale Bulldogs.  Between 1872 and 1909 they collected 26 National Championships (since the Ivy League was founded in 1956, the Bulldogs have won 15 conference championships).  2 of the first 3 Heisman Trophy winners were Yale grads in Larry Kelly (1936) and Clint Frank (1937).  Former Yale player and Head Coach Walter Camp was given the moniker "The Father of American Football" due to his changing the game in many ways, but mainly from the use of a ruby scrum to a line of scrimmage.  The Yale Bulldogs are currently members of the 8 -team Ivy League conference and play their home games in the Yale Bowl, in New Haven, Connecticut.
