Victoria Rosebuds 1959 Road Jersey
History: This city, 30 miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico, was the smallest market in the AA Texas League, but future MLB stars who played for the Rosebuds include Tommy Davis, Dave McNally, and Frank Howard. Former Brooklyn Dodger great Pete Reiser managed the '59 club to the Texas League regular-season pennant. An interesting fact about the Texas League in this period was that as members of the Pan American Association, each club played 36 games against Mexican League teams, with the two league winners facing off in the Pan-American Series after each league's respective playoffs.
