History: Practice made perfect for the Vanderbilt Commodores football team of 1904 when they posted a 9-0 record on their way to a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association Conference Championship (SIAA) - their 3rd at the time. They would go on to capture 11 more in the next 20 years including 2 unclaimed Back-to-Back National Titles in 1921 (7-0-1) and 1922 (8-0-1). One of the greatest players to suit up for Vandy was quarterback, Bill Wade. Wade was an SEC Most Valuable Player who would end up as the NFL's #1 overall Draft Choice in 1952. Wade was a 2-time Pro Bowler and led the 1963 Chicago Bears to the NFL Title. The Vanderbilt Commodores are currently members of the SEC Eastern Division and play their home games at Vanderbilt Stadium, Dudley Field, in Nashville, Tennessee.
