History: The 1970 Ole Miss Rebels followed up their successful 1969 Sugar Bowl winning season by winning 7 of their first 8 games behind the 1969 SEC Player of the year, Archie Manning. Manning would end up 4th in the Heisman Trophy voting in 1970 and is a legend at the University of Mississippi. So much so, that the speed limit is 18 MPH on the Ole Miss campus in honor of his #18 retired jersey. The University of Mississippi football team are currently members of the Southeastern Conference Western Division and play their home games on Jerry Hollingsworth Field at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, Oxford, Mississippi.
