History: The Colorado Buffaloes capped off their 1956 season with an Orange Bowl victory over the Clemson Tigers, 27-21. They were led by All-American running back John Bayuk who scored the winning touchdown and quarterback Boyd Dowler. Dowler went on to win NFL Rookie of the Year honors as a wide receiver and member of the Green Bay Packers in 1959. Dowler spent 11 seasons with the Pack, adding 5 NFL Championships and 2 Super Bowl titles to his trophy case along the way. The Colorado Buffaloes are currently members of the Pac-12 Conference Southern Division and play their home games at Folsom Field, Boulder, Colorado.
