History: The 1953 UCLA Bruins football team finished with a record of 8-2 and were winners of the Pacific Coast Conference. They were led by All-American halfback Paul Cameron. The team lost a close game in the Rose Bowl to Michigan State 28-20, and finished the season with a #4 National ranking. The Bruins would go on to win their first and only National Championship to date in 1954. The UCLA Bruins football team are currently members of the Pac-12 South Conference and play their home games in the legendary Rose Bowl, Pasadena, California.
