Syracuse Chiefs 1962 Home Jersey
$225.00
History: The '62 Chiefs finished the International League season with a record of just 53-101. At catcher for the Chiefs was Choo Choo Coleman, whose .195 batting average in Syracuse mirrored his career .197 career average in the Major Leagues. At just 5'9", 155 lbs, Choo Choo slugged just 9 home runs and 30 RBIs in 4 seasons with the New York Mets and had a mediocre reputation as a defensive catcher -- manager Casey Stengel famously remarked that he had never seen a catcher run so fast to retrieve passed balls -- but nonetheless Choo Choo still became a fan favorite in New York.
