History: In 1938, beer magnate Emil Sick purchased Seattle's Pacific Coast League club and built a state of the art ballpark for them in Rainier Valley named after himself. When Seattle was awarded an American League expansion franchise for 1969, the Pilots took up was supposed to be temporary residence at Sick's Stadium, while a new domed facility was built. Of course before that could happen a bankruptcy judge ordered the team to Milwaukee for the 1970 season. Over the years the park also hosted the Negro league Seattle Steelheads, professional football, and a Jimi Hendrix concert.
