History: Hard to believe after all these years this is the first time we have offered this rare Seattle Rainiers cap, worn only in 1954. The PCL was classified as “Open” in 1954, a prelude to the league eventually getting Major League certification. That plan, of course, changed when the Dodgers and Giants moved West in 1958, taking the original PCL’s two richest territories. Pitcher Tommy Byrne fanned 199 in ’54, leading the league. Byrne was that rare beast: A good-hitting pitcher. He had a .236 lifetime average with four Major League teams.
