History: Minor league veteran Dave Roberts joined the Atoms in 1967 and quickly became one of Japan's premier sluggers. Roberts was replaced by Joe Pepitone in 1973. The team was named after the popular Japanese TV show "Atom Boy", and this jersey sports the Atom Boy patch on the left sleeve. The Atoms were a part of the Japanese Central League.
