History: The San Francisco 49ers won their first NFL Western Division title in 1957 with a record of 8-4.  They would fall in a close playoff loss to the Detroit Lions by a score of 31-27. Future Pro Football Hall of Famers Y.A. "Old Reliable" Tittle, Hugh "The KIng" McElhenny, Bob "The Geek" St. Clair and Joe "The Jet" Perry led the way on offense with another Hall of Famer to be, Leo "The Lion" Nomellini, spearheading the defense. The SF 49ers are currently members of the NFC Western Division and play their games in Levi's Stadium, Santa Clara, California.

Almost Perfect

The 49ers 1957 throwback jacket is almost perfect. I recently went to a fund raising event for the 49ers Golden Heart Fund and Letters to 87 and many fans and retired 49ers asked me about my jacket. It was universally loved. However the one down side is the 49ers logo on the front was not used in 1957 and thus detracts from the authenticity of the jacket. How do I know that ... there a real 1957 jacket in the 49ers Museum and the logo on the front of the jacket was not used by the Niners until the mid-1960s. Oh well the jacket is beautiful and I love it.
