History: 2019 marked the 150th Anniversary of the birth of College Football. The Princeton Tigers (The College of New Jersey) participated in the first game played in 1869, and wound up on the losing end to the Rutgers Queensman (Now the Scarlet Knights) by a score of 6-4. In a rematch 100 years later donning the jersey featured here, the Tigers lost again by a score of 29-0. While Rutgers won those games and the last 5 meetings (1976-1980), Princeton has the better lifetime head-to-head record at 53-17-1, including a run of 33 straight after losing the first historical match-up. The Princeton Tigers football team are currently members of the Ivy League, and play their home games in Princeton University Stadium, Princeton, New Jersey.
