History: 1957 wasn't a great year on the field for the Eagles, although they did improve slightly on their 3-8-1 record from the year before to go 4-8-0 in head coach Hugh Devore's second and final season in charge. Things may not have gone especially well on the field for Philadelphia, but the team was able to find some joy in the '57 NFL Draft where they selected three future multiple-time Pro Bowlers. Halfbacks Bill Ray Barnes and Tommy McDonald were selected in the second and third rounds, and quarterback Sonny Jurgensen was chosen in the fourth round. All three players were with the team when the Eagles won the team's third NFL Championship in 1960.
