Palestine Pals 1939 T-Shirt

History: The Pals were member of the East Texas League (Class C). Palestine finished with a 76-63 record, good enough for the playoffs, but they lost in the first round to the Kilgore Boomers. Catcher Lou Kahn was arguably Palestine's best player. Kahn had a .307 lifetime average in 17 seasons in the minor leagues, but never got a shot on a major league roster (this was quite common in the days before expansion, when there were only 16 major league clubs, and job openings were few and far between). Palestine was affiliated with the St. Louis Browns in 1939, baseball's official Centennial year.
