Oakland Oaks 1940 cap- excellent product and experience
Excellent cap, beautiful construction. The brim was longer than I’m used to but I like it very much.
Awesome. Love the unconstructed brim. It’s gotten a lot of compliments
I love this hat. I live near Oakland and this hat has already started up quite a few conversations including one with an old timer who actually remembered the Oaks.
Love my hat!
I’ve owned Ebbets caps in the past and I would buy the same hat size as my New Era caps. I’m at 7 1/4 in the 5950 and I found the same size Ebbets cap is too snug. I sized up to 3/8ths and it fits perfect! I like the soft bills they’ve been making recently. I have older Ebbets caps with hard bills so the variety is nice.
Oakland Oaks 1940 cap
This is a nice cap. The soft visor, and crown are great. They allow the cap to be rolled, or folded as necessary. This means it can be pulled off and stuffed in a pocket easily. The oak leaf and visor are two different colors of green. ( I prefer the oak leaf’s green, which is a bit more mossy. The visor is closer to a darker hunter) Apparently this is due to the fact that two different fabrics had to be used. The oak leaf is a heavier felt, which wouldn’t work for the visor (which is too bad). Otherwise, it’s the typical EFF quality one has come to expect. The grey of the crown fabric is heathered, which gives a distinct and vintage look. All around a good looking cap, with some caveats.
