Product Details

History: Owned by Effa Manley––the first woman inducted into Cooperstown––and representing Newark, New Jersey, in the Negro National League, the '42 Eagles featured an 18-year-old outfielder named Larry Doby, who appeared in 18 games for the club. Five years later, and three months after Jackie Robinson broke the Major League color barrier in 1947, Doby would break the American League color barrier while playing for the Cleveland Indians.
