History: The Mission club of San Francisco moved south in 1938 and became the second incarnation of the Hollywood Stars (the original "Twinks" moved to San Diego in 1936.) After sharing Wrigley Field with the Los Angeles Angels for one season, the Hollywood Stars moved into their brand new home on Fairfax Avenue, Gilmore Field. The club was aptly named as celebrity stockholders included Gary Cooper, Bing Crosby and Barbara Stanwyck.

I have always enjoyed the Hollywood Star logo. I really like the wide collar on the t-shirt versus a thin collar. I will be ordering another 1939 Stars t in a small for a friend who lives in Burbank, California. P.S.- Don Larson just died and I was reading his obituary and they mentioned some teams that I hadn’t heard of. His obituary was In the Spokesman Review Newspaper. I think he died January 1st.
Great. Love the shirt. Waiting for a reissue of LA Angels Wrigley Field shirt which I got years ago, but haven’t see for quite sometime. The shirt w/ Wrigley field on it
Had to have this shirt. My Dad used to take me to Hollywood Stars games in the early Fifties, long before the Dodgers came to LA. Gilmore Field was a great ball yard to see Stars players like Carlos Brenier, Monte Basgall, Bobby Bragan and Johnny Lindell. Cross-town rivals, LA Angels, were another great Pacific Coast League team. They played in Wrigley Field, which Walter O’Malley deemed to small for his Dodgers
The graphic on the shirt is awesome and looks like itll hold numerous washes. Sizing is also great! Just thought the actual quality of the material of the tee would be a little better based on the price.
