History: The '40 Cats featured an outfielder named Henry "Prince" Oana, a Hawaiian player whose professional career began with encouragement from none other than Ty Cobb, who had seen Oana play as a youngster on a barnstorming team in Japan. Oana's Hawaiian heritage would challenge the nature of color barriers in professional baseball during a fascinating career that also saw him transition from an outfielder to a pitcher while in Fort Worth to make a late-career return to the Major Leagues.
