History: After the demise of the main Negro leagues after integration of the majors, several clubs - including the Detroit Stars - continued as independent teams. The fourth Detroit team to carry the Stars moniker began play in 1954. Goose Tatum, of Harlem Globetrotters fame, played on the club.
