History: Charleston was the top affiliate of the Cleveland Indians in 1983. Charlies’ second baseman Jack Perconte led the International League in batting average, hitting .346. Perconte went on to a major league career with four teams, and authored two books. His uncle, Frank Perconte was a soldier in World War II and a main character in the film “Band Of Brothers”.
