History: Primo lager was launched by the Honolulu Brewing & Malting Company in 1901. Although the brand had to halt operations during Prohibition, they Primo returned under the ownership of the Hawaii Brewing Corporation in 1933. Thirty years later Primo was acquired by Schlitz in 1963. To this day, Primo claims the title of “Hawai’i’s original beer.”
