History: African-American entrepreneur Ed Bolden transformed the formerly amateur Hilldale club, based in the community of Darby, PA, into a professional squad. Hilldale was one of the founding members of the Eastern Colored League in 1923. They won the first three ECL pennants, and represented the ECL in the first two Colored World Series in 1924 and 1925, losing to the Monarchs in '24 and defeating them the following year. After the collapse of the ECL, the team played in the American Negro League for one year. They played as the Darby Daisies from 1929. This cap is from their final season, 1932.

I'm a big fan of the design of New Mexico's flag, combined with an amazing red color and texture that you can't get with polyester hats from New Era and all them. This is my favorite hat I've had in a long time and will last years and years. I love how clean the rest of the hat is too like all Ebbets hats, no logo on the back, sides, or bill, just the team logo and that's it. Very sharp and minimal.
The cap is beautifully crafted down to every last detail. Great memories from my teenage years watching the Dukes play at the Albuquerque sports stadium.
This hat is so well made that it makes me wonder why I spend money on any other brand. This particular hat, 1977 Albuquerque Dukes, is so much better in person and on my head in comparison to the picture. Don’t get me wrong, the pic isn’t lacking in quality, it just doesn’t quite capture the actual feel and look of the hat in person. New favorite hat!
I've worn fitted American Needle and New Era MLB hats for years, but this is my first hat from Ebbets. The only thing I didn't like about it initially was the flat brim, but I was able to achieve the perfect curve by initially using the coffee mug trick (Google it), then wearing the hat a little bit. The quality and craftsmanship of this hat is such that I expect that it will last the rest of my life.
