League: Little League

History: When 11-year old pitcher Maria Pepe joined her Little League squad in 1972, after having tried out and made the team, she did not expect to become a history-making barrier breaker. After playing just three games she was forced to turn in her uniform, as Little League had a rule against girls playing "under any circumstances." When the New Jersey Superior Court ruled in her favor two years later, Maria was too old to play. But her experience, and the legal decision that resulted paved the way for thousands of girls to play Little League baseball. We are proud to present - with her permission - a reproduction of Maria's ballcap.

Sizing Chart Ballcaps

Our caps faithfully replicate historic professional baseball caps from 1900 to 1970 and fit differently than modern caps. Try wrapping a piece of string around your head where a cap would naturally fit and then measure the string to find your size.

Size Head Measurement (in inches)
7 21 5/8”
7 1/8 22”
7 1/4 22 3/8”
7 3/8 22 3/4”
7 1/2 23 1/8"
7 5/8 23 1/2"
7 3/4 23 7/8"
7 7/8 24 1/4"
8 24 5/8"

Adjustable caps fit up to a size 7 5/8.

Measuring Guide

We offer three kinds of ballcap visors:

Pre-1940 ballcaps were made with soft visors so players could fold them up and put them in their back pockets. Later visors were done in standard (stiff visor) or short (also a soft visor). Check the product details to see which type of visor each cap has.
