History: The Luckies got their name from Lucky Strike cigarettes, which were produced by the American Tobacco Co. in Reidsville. Ralph Hodgin batted .387 to lead the Bi-State League. Hodgin later played for Sacramento in the Pacific Coast League, and the Boston Bees and Chicago White Sox in the majors.
