History: The 1955 marked one of the Seals last before the Giants moved west in 1958 and ended the city’s history in Pacific Coast League. While the Seals finished the campaign 6th in the 8-team league, the season featured a ceremonial reunion of the three DiMaggio brothers––Joe, Dom, and Vince––at Seals Stadium, where they all got their start. For the event, the three wore this ‘55 Seals home shirt.

I ordered this jersey as a special Christmas gift for my partner, who is a SF Giants fan and lover of all things vintage and high quality. He fits a UK men's Medium, but to be doubly sure of the size I measured one of his favourite shirts and lo and behold, he was better suited to a Small in this jersey. I ordered on the 24th October, and my order arrived on the 21st December, just in time for Christmas. It was great to receive tracking info all the way through from the US to the UK; having the peace of mind was a serious stress buster, especially when it involved quite an expensive purchase. Initially I was worried that he might have preferred a different colourway, but when I opened the box and felt the quality of the jersey I was completely blown away. The wool is stunning; really sturdy with a beautiful textured weave. I would say that it appears whiter in the photograph but in my opinion that's not a bad thing, as the cream tone adds a lot of depth and the weave is really visible. All of the stitching was neat and tidy, of a very high quality. My partner couldn't believe his eyes when he opened it, and wore it straight away (and pretty much every day since, whenever he's found an excuse to). The size was pretty good - a little tight under the arms but I imagine this will soften as he wears it in. All in all, a breathtaking reproduction, you're definitely masters of your art!
