History: Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Slingin' Sammy Baugh played his entire 16 year career with Washington (1937-1952). Before being drafted by Washington, Sammy was a 2x All-American at Texas Christian University and is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame. During his illustrious pro career, he led the Skins to an NFL Championship victory in his rookie season and another in 1942. Along the way, Baugh was an 8x NFL Completion Percentage leader, 6x First team All-Pro, 4x NFL Passing yards leader, 3x NFL Passer rating leader, 2x NFL passing touchdowns leader and 2x NFL Player of the Year. He is a member of the NFL 1940's All-Decade team and 75th Anniversary All-Time Team. His #33 is retired. After his playing days, Sammy coached college ball for Hardin-Simmons University before becoming the first Coach of the New York Titans (the New York Jets of today) of the American Football League in 1960.
