History: Defensive lineman Ernie Stautner played 14 seasons for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1950-1963. He was a 9x - Pro Bowler capturing the Best Lineman Award in 1957. Stautner never made it to a playoff game as a player but had a successful career as a Defensive Coordinator and Line coach for the Dallas Cowboys where he was a 2X Super Bowl Champion. Ernie was the first member of the Pittsburgh Steelers to have his number retired in 1964 and he was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1969.
