History: After a short 4 year stint in the NFL out of Notre Dame, Quarterback Frank Tripucka went north to the Canadian Football league for 8 seasons before joining the Denver Broncos of the AFL in their 1960 inaugural season. That year Tripucka threw the very first touchdown pass in AFL history along with tossing for over 3,000 yards - a first for NFL or AFL QB's. Tripucka was the first player in Broncos history to have his jersey retired and is in the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame.
