History: Representing Buffalo, New York, as the AAA affiliate of the Detroit Tigers in 1952, the Bisons played home games at War Memorial Stadium, which was affectionately known as “The Rockpile.” While the Bisons finished the ‘52 campaign 25.5 games behind the first place Montreal Royals, Bisons outfielder Frank Carswell led the International League in both batting average (.344) and home runs (30).
