History: It took only a short 5 years from the time Arizona State University first fielded a varsity baseball team for a young Coach Bobby Winkles to lead the Sun Devils to their first of many College World Series tournament appearances in 1964 (21 to be exact as of 2019). Winkles would win his first of 3 College World Series titles the following year in 1965, and finished his illustrious career with a record of 524-173 and enshrinement in the National College Baseball Hall of Fame. The Arizona State Sun Devils are currently members of the Pac-12 Conference and play their home games at Phoenix Municipal Stadium, Phoenix, Arizona.
