History: The Oklahoma Sooners football program is one of the most decorated in all of College Sports. They are the winners of 7 National Championships (an additional 10 unclaimed), 11 Big 12 Championships and 47 Conference titles (14 in a row from 1946-1959). They've produced 6 Heisman Trophy winners and possess the record for most consecutive wins with 47 straight victories over the span of 5-seasons from 1953-1957 under the tutelage of legendary Head Coach Bud Wilkinson (He led them to another 31 straight prior to that between 1948-1950!). The mantra "Play Like A Champion Today" - most notably used by the Notre Dame Fighting Irish since 1986, had its origins with the University of Oklahoma dating back to 1947. The Oklahoma Sooners are currently members of the Big 12 Conference and play their home games at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium (the "Palace on the Prairie") in Norman, Oklahoma. BOOMER SOONER!
