History: Under the tutelage of former FAMU football and baseball star, Costa "Pop" Kittles, the Rattlers won eight Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles including seven straight (1960-1966). The first Rattler to make it to the major leagues was Hal McRae (1964-65) who went on to an illustrious career as a player, coach, and manager and is a member of both the Florida A&M and Kansas City Royals Halls of Fame. Florida A&M, or FAMU, is a historically black university (HBCU) located in Tallahassee, Florida. They currently play their home games at Moore Kittles Field and are members of the Southern Division of the Mid Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC)
