League: Collegiate Baseball

History: Leading the Gators in 1957 was team Captain and All-Conference outfielder Bobby Barnes. Another All-Conference player, infielder Russ Maxey, led the starters in batting with a .304 average. The Rowdy Reptiles finished the season with a 13-11 record. The Florida Gators baseball team won two SEC titles in the 1950s and were coached by legendary leader Dave Fuller who managed the team for 28 years - the longest tenure in school history.
