League: Collegiate Baseball

History: The Colorado Buffs baseball team was coached by Frank "The Chief" Prentup. He held the position for 24 seasons (1946-1969), the longest tenured of any CU head coach in the sport. He coached many CU football players into baseball stars, most notably Frank Bernardi, who had never played the sport before and would eventually become a .383 hitter.

As of today, the University of Colorado does not field a Division I baseball team, having cut the program in the mid-1980's with the institution of Title IX...they do however, have a club team.
