League: Collegiate Baseball
History: Led by team pitching ace Dick Nen, the Cal State Long Beach 49ers posted a winning season (20-14) in 1960. Nen would become the first 49er to reach the Major Leagues since the team began play in 1954. The 49ers have been one of the most consistent winning teams in College Baseball over the years capturing 12 Conference Championships with at least one in each decade since 1960 and 4 College World Series titles. Currently, the "Dirt Bags" (as they are more often referred to due to their gritty play and determination) are currently members of the Big West Conference and play their home games at Blair Field.
