History: An affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, the 1954 Mustangs from Billings, Montana, finished the Pioneer League season with a record of 76-56, good for second place behind the Salt Lake City Bees. The Mustangs, however, fell in the first round of the playoffs to their Montana rivals, the fourth-place Great Falls Electrics.
