League: Pacific Coast International League
History: The small logging center of Aberdeen, Washington (now known as the birthplace of Kurt Cobain) was certainly punching above its weight in the Class B PCIL, playing against teams from Seattle, Portland, Tacoma, and Vancouver, BC. It's interesting that the team used the "sabo cat" emblem, which was associated with the Industrial Workers of the World (the "Wobblies"). The working conditions of loggers and lumbermen were miserable during this time, and the Wobblies had launched a huge general strike the prior year, when the U.S. government was pressing for more wood supply for the war effort. We wonder if some of the players were lumbermen who were showing their solidarity on their uniforms.
