History: The 1950 season proved to be the final campaign for this once-proud franchise. At one time, the “Little Giants” routinely packed the stands at Roosevelt Stadium, which also saw the debut of Jackie Robinson in his first game in “organized” baseball in 1946. As was the case across the country, the new phenomenon of television drastically affected attendance, as fans in Jersey City soon had games beamed into their living rooms from the three MLB teams across the river in New York. On the field, the team performed well enough to make the post-season playoffs, but the writing was on the wall and the franchise was transferred to Ottawa, Canada for the 1951 season.

Ballcaps

Our caps faithfully replicate historic professional baseball caps from 1900 to 1970 and fit differently than modern caps. Try wrapping a piece of string around your head where a cap would naturally fit and then measure the string to find your size.

Size Head Measurement (in inches)
7 21 5/8”
7 1/8 22”
7 1/4 22 3/8”
7 3/8 22 3/4”

7 5/8 23 1/2"
7 3/4 23 7/8"

We offer three kinds of ballcap visors:

Pre-1940 ballcaps were made with soft visors so players could fold them up and put them in their back pockets. Later visors were done in standard (stiff visor) or short (also a soft visor). Check the product details to see which type of visor each cap has.
