History: The Cats were managed by legend Rogers Hornsby in 1942. Ft. Worth outfielder Thurman Tucker led the Texas League with 116 runs scored, and went on to play or the Indians and White Sox. Pitcher Earl Caldwell had 21 wins. Caldwell’s long career in the majors and minors included stints with the Phillies, White Sox, St. Louis Browns, and Boston Red Sox.
