HISTORY
Hawaii-born Wally Yonamine was the first player of Japanese ancestry to play professional football (for the AAFC's San Francisco 49ers) and the only US-born player to be inducted into the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame. Before signing with Tokyo, Yonamine hit .335 for the Salt Lake Bees in 1950.
