What do you do when you are routed 33-0? If you were Dan Blain, owner of the Staten Island Stapletons, you hire the players who beat you (in this case the Newark Bears of the AFL). The Stapes improved enough to join the NFL in 1929, and even hired away New York Giant great Ken Strong.
