New Orleans Pelicans 1915 Home Jersey
SOUTHERN ASSOCIATION
HISTORY
The Crescent City had a proud seventy year tradition of Southern baseball. The 1905 team had the distinction of winning the pennant while playing the last six weeks on the road due to an outbreak of yellow fever in New Orleans. The Pels appeared in the Dixie Series five times between 1923 and 1934 winning in '33 against San Antonio and topping Galveston in '34. The 1915 champion Pelicans wore a very odd six-pointed star on their uniforms.
