History: Joe Tinker (of Tinker to Evers to Chance fame) was one of the major league stars who jumped to the fledgling Federal League in 1914, leaving behind the Cubs. Upon dissolution of the Federal League, Whales' owner Charles Weeghman purchased the Cubs and moved them into Weeghman Park (now called Wrigley Field).
