All Nippon 1934 Home Jersey
History: In 1934 Babe Ruth led a squad of American League all-stars on a month-long baseball tour of Japan. Their opponents were a collection of Japan's best amateur players, known as the "All Nippon" team. A standout for All Nippon was 6 foot 3 inch Victor Starffin, son of a Tsarist Russian military officer who was Japan's best pitcher. Starffin's father had been convicted of murdering a young woman in his tea shop the year before, and young Victor was promised help by tour organizer Matsutaro Shoriki in exchange for playing for Japan. Starffin went on to a long professional career in Japan, starting with a decade-long stint with the Tokyo Giants.
