Cleveland Barons History

The Barons were a particular success in large part to owner Al Sutphin, who paid high salaries and built Cleveland Arena. Many players preferred to stay in "minor league" Cleveland rather than compete for a job on one of the NHL's six teams. On the ice, the team won 10 division titles and nine Calder Cups.
